Mystery solved

Barth Brooks is the dark tabby.  Willie Nelson is grey.  The difference between Brad Paisley and Keith Urban is much more subtle.  I can tell them apart but it will never  be obvious in a picture.  Loretta Lynn is a goofball.  One night she tried to nurse all the kittens while lying on my lap.  There's just not enough room but what a sweet gesture.  She seems to prefer drinking water by dunking her paw and then licking the paw.  I've seen her drink the more conventional way but usually it's the paw method.
Kittens seem to be drinking without paws but I did see Brad/Keith dunking his paw the other day so they may end up paw dunkers too.  Time will tell.

Loretta Lynn

Mickey, Minnie, Daisy and Donald have all found homes! Marsha Brady is still waiting for her family to come adopt her.
Meanwhile back at the kitten room a new bunch has arrived. Mama cat is Loretta Lynn. She has four boys, Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, Keith Urban and Brad Paisley. So far Loretta is a little shy so I haven't been able to see much of them. They were friendly enough when they arrived so I'm hoping they'll be out and about soon. Loretta is a pretty torti. Brad and Keith are a pretty buff color, Willie (or is it Garth?) is a dark tabby and Garth (or Willie?) is a soft pearly grey.
I'm hoping to hear them sing soon.

Marsha, Marsha, Marsha

She was one of the Brady bunch who came back to me for TLC when she had a medical problem.

She has had to be isolated from all the fun and has complained bitterly about it. When I'm with her she wants to be held and to play and I can't get a better picture since she's too close. Even with a bad picture though you can see that she's growing up to be a lovely girl. She's all better now and will leave soon and have a nice, social cat life again.

Minnie

Minnie is the most playful but she loves cuddling too. She has thumbs too. Just the cutest things. She has such a pretty face even before you notice the darling feet. What a doll.

Mickey

Mickey has that look............sweet and trusting.

He's a good little fellow. He and Minnie are built alike but have very different coloring.

Donald

Donald is the guy peeking from behind the curtain. He and Daisy are a pair. He doesn't mind spending time with Mickey either. Snuggly and playful, what a sweetheart.

Daisy

This is darling Daisy. She's almost all white except her pretty face and lovely tail. She's cuddly and adorable and has the cutest feet. Call her polydactyl, mitten kitten, or Hemingway cat, any way you look at it she has thumbs and they are the sweetest feet you'll ever see on a kitten.

The Lovelies

Lacie, Lulu, and Lanie Lovely were bottle babies. When they came to me they couldn't believe I didn't have milk for them somewhere. They were so cuddly it was hard for me to get them far enough away to take their pictures. All they wanted to do was purr and snuggle. I thought they would get adopted quickly because they were so loving. I was right, they only spent a few days in the shelter before they found their families.

Next up? Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy. My problem with them will be getting them to hold still long enough for portraits.

Ecuador

Ecuador is the bright orange fellow in the middle.

I love the way this bunch plays, it's hard to see just one of them. Usually each one is chewing on part of the next one just like this picture.

Peru and Colombia

These boys are hard to tell apart but they are snuggly and playful and delightful.

Chile

Chile is as beautiful as her sister but is a lovely grey calico. She's a sweetheart

South American Kittens

They are not imports but their names are Brazil (mama), Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. What a darling bunch they are! Argentina is a dark beauty. Loving and playful and beautiful.

Biscuit

He's the same gorgeous, deep orange as Muffin but his hair is a little shorter. Biscuit is a sweetheart, cuddly, playful, all the good things a kitten should be.

Dumpling

Goofy, sweet, cuddly, long haired. A perfect dumpling of a kitten. He loves to snuggle and seems a little bit confused about the world in general. A yummy little guy.

Cupcake

This kitten was formerly known as Spiderman. She's the only girl in this group and takes her responsiblities very seriously. Here she has tackled Biscuit. It may be her name but you can't call her a cupcake, she's a force to be reckoned with!

Muffin

Can't get all of his beauty in one shot! The Muffin Man is truly gorgeous. Dark orange, long hair, sweet as he can be.

Definitely one of the Yummies.

Cookie

This is Cookie, one of the Yummy group. He's got big feet to grow into and long hair. He's darker than the pictures show, black tabby. He's the first to greet me when I enter the kitten zone.

Meg has found her family. I visited Stewie and Peter and Lois and they are all doing well waiting to meet the perfect families.
The Brady bunch have moved in. Cindy, Jan, Peter, Greg, Marcia, and Carol are doing well.
The camera is not currently working but I'll try with the phone.

Take your Kitten to Work Day

Tired kittens after a long day of being admired and adored. They were absolutely perfect and seemed to enjoy all the attention. Still looking for homes for these darlings but they certainly do interview well.

Adorable Adoptables

This Saturday Meg, Stewie and Peter will visit the Monroe County Public Library for a program where they could possibly meet their new family. More likely they will merely be admired and petted and serve as ambassadors for the other homeless kittens in the world. Either way they'll get lots of good attention. Stewie and Peter are now officially adoptable, Meg will be there as a tease since she's not quite big enough to be spayed.

Mini Meg

This is what 8 ounces of attitude looks like! She's tiny. She's adorable. Her mother is a very small cat but next to Meg she looks big. Mama Lois is a pretty orange girl who needs some fattening up.

Meg just needs to grow. I was very happy to watch the two of them chowing down on dry kitten food this morning, just what the Vet ordered!

Perfect Peter

Not a perfect photo but you can see that he's an orange charmer. He and Stewie play wrestle and chase all day long.

He's keeping pace with Stewie, gaining weight like a champ.

Super Stewie

She's totally adorable and growing like a weed. In one week she gained 13 ounces! She does all the right kitten things, cuddle, play, eat, grow.....I've never seen her sleep.

Win some, lose some

I was so excited to pick up a mama cat with kittens. She's an orange tabby (most orange kitties are male) There were 5 kittens but not in good shape. Now there are three. Little Meg weighs 8 ounces and the big kittens, Stewie and Peter weigh 13.5 ounces. Mama Lois only weighs a little over 4 pounds. I'll post pictures when I can, right now I'm working on fattening them all up.

Great Expectations

I got a call about a pregnant cat but that didn't turn out, she disappeared in the man's house (probably to have her kittens) and I haven't heard from him since. I'm assuming all is well. Tomorrow I'm scheduled to pick up a mama cat with 4 kittens. Little one pound darlings. I can't wait! I've been without kittens since March 6th. I miss kitten fluff. I hope to have pictures to post soon.

Adoption News

I visited Reggie and Sharon and they were so happy to see me. I checked in on Blynken and she had a new friend, an orange tabby. They were so happy together and had formed such a strong bond that they were offered together as a two-for-one adoption fee. After being away I heard from one of my favorite adopters that she might be interested in Reggie. When I checked I learned that Sharon and Reggie had found their families. When I asked about Blynken I learned that she and her orange pal found their family too. I'm so happy that shy Blynken won someone's heart after a long time waiting in the shelter.
The new kittens have not yet arrived but they are out there somewhere and I'm ready for them!

Sweet Sharon

Greetings from Sharon. She is the most reserved of the bunch but has become quite friendly now that she knows me. She'd rather play than eat and you can see that since she's the smallest of the bunch. We're fighting an eye infection but she's really nice about letting me put medicine in her eye twice a day. She is a dilute calico, sweet grey and buff patches instead of dark orange and black. This girl is super, she's fun to watch and sweet to cuddle.

Tony Terrific

Yes it's hard to photograph black cats, even harder when they are busy, busy, busy. Tony wants to be held and wants to see everything. The slightly crazed look in his eyes is his desire to be loved and held while playing chase with his siblings and eating. He's a busy boy and loving as can be.

Handsome Jay

You can tell by his wink that this boy is a charmer. He's the most beautiful soft grey and he's playful and cuddly and all the right things.

The Beautiful Tawny

Two sides of Miss Tawny. She isn't usually a talker but she wanted to say Hello. She's very friendly and sweet and tries to keep up with the boys. Her markings are beautiful. She's a tabbico or a torbie , either one means she has both tabby stripes and calico colors. She has some vivid orange spots, small but very pretty.

Reggie

Reggie says "HI" He has longer hair than the rest and he's just as snuggly as he can be. He loves to get in my hair and nuzzle.
